Yes! Through KY regulation, dentists who undergo specific training can safely administer Botox to their patients for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes. Dr. Norton is now Botox-certified and accepting patients for this new service.

Botox is a neuromodulator that blocks nerve signals to muscles, relaxing them over time and thus reducing wrinkle formation.

Popular treatment areas for cosmetic Botox include the forehead, eye area (crow’s feet), chin, and jaw muscles for TMJ, for therapeutic purposes. During your consultation, Dr. Norton will discuss your areas of concern with you and develop a personalized treatment plan. 

Individuals pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to botulinum toxin, or with neuromuscular disorders should avoid treatment.

Botox relaxes muscles to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while fillers improve volume loss under the skin.

Common side effects include mild bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness at the injection site, which typically subside within a few days. 

Results start to show after 2-4  days, and the full effects can be seen by around day 10; effects typically last 3-6 months.
